Hi Hari,

How much does the Mini ARK surgery cost?

I am checking into my options at the moment but my kc is not so bad yet. I am worried about the future though and if i can do something now that would work i would be very interested.

I know that the C3R costs 500 euro per eye.

I obviously won't make a decision on cost but it is a factor.

Thanks, Alan

Hi Alan and welcome,

Our friend Hari is on holiday at the moment and also he is very happy about his out-come and so may visit here less as time goes on in the near future.

Anyway Price is individual to each case so i understand, but roughly i believe it to be 3000 euro per eye.

All the Best.

Hi Quintrix,

Thanks for the info.

It seems quite a lot for a procedure that has no guarantee of improvement in vision. But I guess you could say that it is cheap at the price if it succeeds.

I have had C3R and INTACS, but wondered if I could have mini ark on my eyes as well?

Thanks
Louise

Woah up there Louise smile
My advice is to reap the benefits of the procedures you have already had biggrin. All these procedures take time to reach best possible results.

But I have to say your passion to get to your cure is very inspiring... To my mind all treatments should be considered... to me there is no fan club to any particular procedure. But in saying this we do give a certain credibility to the 'way out' we have personally experienced... so to be honest I know for fact that people with INTACs have had them removed and had mini ARK... and as far as I know C-3R is not a contradiction to ARK.

I very much look forward to your input Louise... very few speak about their journey into the KC forest and even fewer speak of their way out of it smile

Hari

Hi Hari,

Thanks for your advice. Yes I am a tad impulsive, I know. I would just love to get my vision back to the way it was a year ago and reading what I have about ARK, it initially seems pretty good. I know I'd have to wait, at least a year I guess, after the other procedures.
So are INTACS a contradiction to and have to be removed for ARK?

I'd like to get out of this KC forest as soon as and if possible!smile

Cheers
Louise

Hi Louise,
I've never heard of anyone having ARK whilst they still have INTAC implants... I cant imagine this would ever happen. But I do know of people who have had problems with INTAC's extruding and have had them removed then subsequently they have then gone on to mini ARK... also many who have already had grafts but were not satisfied with the result have also had ARK on their transplanted corneas.

I think you are very much on the right track and have a great attitude toward your treatment... keeping all your options on the table and keeping up to date with all the latest developments. biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Regards,
Hari
