If I were you I would just wait. It sounds like you are panicing because of the healing fluctuations in vision which is understandable but just give it time. KC SUCKS because it really is going to screw up your job until it is healed. That might mean losing money and possibly screwing other things you would do normally, but this is the reality.

If you rush the process and try other things to make it heal faster you may regret it in a few months if what you have done prevents it from healing correctly. RGP's are a bad idea in my opinion and I say this because the last thing you want to be doing is TOUCHING/RUBBING your eyes while they are healing. I would just hang in there and rough it out. It's a horrible experience but you don't want to make it worse.

I lounged around for 2 months getting starbucks and going for long walks around the Vancouver's sea wall while I waited. There is not much else you can do besides listen to an ipod. The other thing is that it is dry in Toronto because it is winter now and that means dry eye will be worse these months in Toronto. Vancouver is on the west coast so the ocean keeps it the air a little more humid. Get a Humidifire and once you are done the drops from Dr. Kanellopolus make sure you get preservative free drops like Refresf plus. If your eyes are dry your vision will drop drastically eg. 20/20 to 20/40.

Thank you for your response cloudd. The problem is I can not even read a standard eye chart at all right now. The only eye charts that I can read are the modified ones at the specialists office. pre op i was reading 20/20 and 20/30 on a standard chart. Dr.k said rgp's will not effect the healing. I think i will take your advice though and wait it out a bit longer. Rgp's would not be even fit till after christmas so maybe i'll tough out and see how vision gets by then. But as I said, can not even read my ownn chart on the wall period.Only modified charts at the specialists office. Thanx for your quick reply. Will post topogrophies very soon.

I put on a friends spectacles today and i could see!!!

still had ghosting in the right eye but i could see as gooid as pre-op. will get prescribed a set in the evening tomorrowe. almost all abbrasionjs dissapeared except for drop vision in right eyte. i can deal with that though comparing it to current vision. Dr.k emailed me and explained to me to stop panicing. Can take up to 4 months. will send hoim my topos and he will give me a clinical thought on healing.

i just dont understand why my good eye is so bad now and abbrasions keep getting worse and ghosting also. every day reading a computer screeb is getting toigh becausre of ghosting. My more keratoconic eye is still completley useless(can not say that though because i feel fortunate that i can at least still see....there are alot worse eye diseases that i can be thankful for not having)keratoconus is life changing but treatable in a sense. There are options.transplant if necessary

I can see!!!!!!!!!!!

got my specs today and love my visioin with them. They will relieve alot of stress and hopefully help with the healing process mentally. The anti-glare on the lenses helps so much with the abbrasions. Still getting used to depth perseption with them, but lights on cars during the day so far are cut drastically. I am undercorrectd presently, and will hopefully have better night vision with them now. :)

HAD FOLLOW UP WITH DR.STEIN TODAY AND HAD TOPOGROPHIES TAKEN.SAYS EVERYTHING LOOKING GOOD. i'M GETTING MORE AND MORE GHOSTING BUT IT IS NORMAL WHILE CORNEAS SETTLE.PROGRESSION HAS STOPPED. WILL SCAN TOPOS AND POST RIGHT AWAY FOR ALL TO SEE.

CURRENT VISION RIGHT...20/100 STILL TONS OF GHOSTING,READ TOP SET OF LETTERS.

CURRENT VISION LEFT..20/80...TONS OF GHOSTING.

DOCTOR STEIN SEEMS IMPRESSED SO FAR.

SPECTACLES HAVE HIGH REFLECTIVE COATING THAT CUT 80% OF ABBRASIONS. CAN LIVE DAY TO DAY LIFE,AND DRIVE AT NIGHT.
