The younger you are the faster the healing, also your an excellent candidate as your KC is relatively mild. (without tempting fate!...you should reach your visual goal).

I hope you the best while the recovery is still going on.

1 MONTH:

It's been about a month since the surgery. My vision appears to slowly improve, although the daily changes are so slight that it takes about a week to notice any improvement. Just 2 more days left of prednisolone drops, hopefully healing takes off after that. Day vision is pretty good, except for the ghosting in the right eye. Night vision is annoying, with halos and starbursts around lights. Ghosting and blurriness in the right eye are still problematic, as they make it difficult to read. Also been dealing with some dryness in the eyes, using preservative-free drops to wet them every so often. Next appointment is in 4 weeks, hopefully there'll be progress...

Sorry for the delay in my reply - not much has changed or appears to have changed. I'm still dealing with halos, starbursts, and ghosting. My eyes are pretty dry in the morning when i wake up but thats likely bc its cold in my apartment. On a positive note, it seems that my vision is slightly getting better - but only ever so slightly.

Dr. Donnenefeld is a good doctor but be prepared to ask him questions to get more information out of him. Feel free to ask if you need any more information or advice, etc.

I'll update again in 2 weeks after my checkup.

Dima,
Did you have halos, starbursts and ghosting even before the cross linking? Did you see anyone else in the tri-state area for a consult?

No never had any issues with those and didn't do any other consults.

Dima, For the dryness, in addition to the drops, try 3000 mg of omega3 per day. It takes awhile (2-4 weeks) to feel results but really makes a difference. I no longer have dry eye problems. I take a Cormega3 flavored package everyday. It has 2500 mg (I figured close enough) instead of multiple pills per day. Btw, can get these from vitaminshoppe.com or Amazon.
