Corneal transplantation

I am diagnosed with Keratoconus. I have been facing with vision loss, blurred vision and halos, just to name a few difficulties that comes with it. The last consultation with my Tacoma eye doctor at Evergreen Eye told me that a permanent solution for my condition is to get a corneal transplantation done. Considering the fact that it is not easy to get a donor, how successful is the procedure? Will it be worth the wait? Does anyone know more about this? Please advise!

Hi Melissa,

Have you tried contact lenses ? There are many types for Keratocnus. Then in Canada there is a well known clinic where they have a few options which even from the US patients go to for their medical opinion on treatment.

This is the link to the clinic http://www.bochner.com/services_keratoconus.php

Check it out!

Megan
