I have a history of several diagnosed eye conditions: Keratoconus both eyes mild to moderate, history of optic neuritis one eye, and astigmatism both eyes.
Sounds awful?
Not really. ....
After getting epi-on cross linking in both eyes, an intac in one eye, and PRK in the other eye, I am able to see without glasses 20/25 in one eye and 20/70 in the other. I may get CK done in the 20/70 eye next year.
Point being: if you are newly diagnosed with keratoconus, don’t freak out. Find a KC specialist, Get the cross linking to stop progression ASAP and then consider the other options of intacs, CK, and PRK.
Also avoid eye rubbing as much as possible.
Medicine has come a long way when it comes to this condition.
Should you have any questions for me, feel free to email me directly at bwaventura@aol.com as I don’t check back here often.
You got your patient data (its yours and yours alone) and told people to get out of the way (metaphorically) in this internet age with data flying around, you landed on your feet!
