All keratoconus treatments (updated list)

I plan to create a database of keratoconus treatments, which includes clinical outcomes (refrections, HOA's, keratoconus progressions, etc), inclusion and exclusion criteria, complications & risks, etc. Of course, all of the information will include medical references. This is so keratoconus patients will be able to compare & determine which are the best treatments available for them. So far, I gathered this list of treatments:

Under research:

Continuous Wave Infrared Laser

Laser tissue welding in corneal transplant

Cornea reshaping eye-drops

Ocumetics Bionic Lens

IVMED-80 eyedrops

CorNeat Vision

Allotex - Inalys and Onlays (currently ongoing human clinical trials for presbyopia & hyperopia)

Under human clinical trials:

XtraFocus pinhole implant

Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments (CAIRS)

Corneal Tissue Addition for Keratoconus

Corneal Stroma Enhancement With Decellularized Stromal Laminas With or Without Stem Cell Recellularization for Advanced Keratoconus

Autologous Adipose-Derived Adult Stem Cell (ADASC)

Tailored stromal expansion with a refractive lenticule for crosslinking the ultrathin cornea

Available treatments:

Corneal rings:

Intrastromal Corneal Ring Segments (ICRS) - Intacs, Intacs SK and Kerarings/Ferrara Rings

Corneal Intrastromal Implantation Surgery (CISIS) - MyoRing

Corneal cross-linking:

Epi-on CXL

Epi-off CXL

Topography-guided CXL

Thermokeratoplasty:

Topography-guided conductive keratoplasty

Keraflex

Micro-surgeries:

Mini Asymmetric Radial Keratotomy (Mini A.R.K) - available in Italy

Minimally Invasive Radial Keratotomy - available in the UK, Japan, Italy

Diamond Surgery / Artsybashev's technique (Radial Keratotomy and/or Astigmatic Keratotomy) - available in Hungary

Circular keratotomy performed with a femtosecond laser (Femto-CKT) -  available in Germany

Bader proceadure (Astigmatic keratotomy + Circular Keratotomy) - available in Jordan

Laser ablation surgeries:

Topography-guided PRK

Phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK)

Corneal transplants:

Epikeratoplasty

Penetrating keratoplasty with Kerumeich Ring

Custom-designed contact lenses:

Laserfit

EyePrintPRO

Autokeratoplasty:

Ipsilateral rotational autokeratoplasty

Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Refractive Autokeratoplasty

Other treatments:

Phakic Intraocular Lens  (P-IOL) / Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) - Visian ICL

Amniotic membrane transplant.

Bowman’s layer transplantation

You may want to consider addition of adequate vitamin D3 to the list--search "Spectrum of Darkness, Agent of Light" for a link to the paper either by Google or PubMed.

@D3I this research paper is very interesting. I will definitely add it. In your opinion, apart from prevention, could Vitamin D3 also reserve irregular astigmatism? What is the mechanism behind Vitamin D3 on the ocular tissue? Does it promote regeneration?

I also want to add the following treatments to the list:

Under research:
Corneal stromal stem cells reduce corneal scarring by mediating neutrophil infiltration after wounding.

New Technique May Improve Corneal Transplant Survival

Treatments:

Excimer laser lamellar keratoplasty of augmented thickness for keratoconus.

Hemi-automated lamellar keratoplasty

For reduced chances of scarring post CXL or rejection after corneal transplant:

Use of PROKERA® in High-Risk Corneal Transplants: Initial Results

A Protocol for Use of PROKERA after Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking

Thank you, that is an interesting list. May I suggest cross-posting at www.reddit.com/r/Keratoconus/ ?
