Is there anyone who had successfully completed LASIK eye surgery?

Hello friends,
I used to have monthly eye checkups. During my last check-up, my optometrist recommended me to do
laser vision correction in Toronto to avoid using glasses permanently. The doctor didn't hide the risks involved in surgery. So, I was so confused whether I should go ahead with it or not. Is there anyone who had successfully completed LASIK eye surgery? How was your experience?

Fambeephyal,

For a person seeking Lasik they will first of all get diagnostically screened and have a full eye exam. Then you will have a consultation with the surgeon with the test results and readings of your eyes to hand.

If you have been diagnosed with Keratoconus (like much of us on the forum) Lasik is a contradiction, however those with subclinical Keratoconus might have an opportunity with the aid of Crosslinking in the near future in select places. However it might be possible to have PRK or even SMILE laser surgery as other options with regards to Laser vision correction. There is not enough data currently for widespread use because it's in the investigational stage with regards to subclinical Keratoconus and it takes time to know the long term safety profile.

In the case of PRK in early Keratoconus, it does yield results for those deemed suitable.

Lasik for "regular" persons might have been made more better with the use of Crosslinking to strengthen the cornea early investigations suggests.

Stay well !
