Hi,

I hope some of you can help me with the following questions:

 (1) If miniARK is such a success for such a long period how come the inventor has not written a single scientific article to be published in any peer viewed or non-peer viewed medical journal? Why is there no complete database of pictures and results on the inventorís website, so that as a potential candidate or patient I could check these results for my self?

 (2) When such incisions are made will they always be visible or do they disappear/heal after a while?

 (3) How does the inventor ensure that the positive testimonials by his patients are not due to the 'placebo effect'?

 Best regards, Jan

Hi There Jan and welcome,

There was a publication of mini-ark data in Leadership magazine.

About the pictures... you will have to ask the clinic about their web-site, there are pictures on this site though if you want to see some: www.miniarkdatabase.com

I think in certain light in certain angles you may be able to see the cuts, i think they do remain, but not visable unless your looking for them.

I think corneal topography results will show flatting has taken place.

All the best

Hi Jan,
1.
The inventor of ARK has published his results... this technique has been around for nearly 20 years. But it has never had an easy ride... check out : www.miniarkdatabase.com - to see the papers that have been published.
But it is very true that there has been a virtual wall of objection to the very notion of this procedure. Dig deeper and see the basis to this decent.
2.
I have personally had mini ark and to date I have never seen my own incisions. In the right light at the right angle my family has been able to make them out. It is not a visual problem.

3.
He does not... but the testimonies span 20 years so thats one very effective placebo.

Regards,
Hari

Hi there,

Thanks for both replies. I think Lombardi should write a book where he writes more about this method and publishes all of his results. This way only he will be taken seriously by the academic community and supposedly me, I guess. But Iím happy to hear that some of you gained great benefit from this treatment.

Anyway, next week Iím going to Dresden to hear more about the crosslinking method and to be informed whether Iím a possible candidate for this treatment or not.

Best regards, Jan

Good Luck Jan, please post about your trip and have a comfortable journey and stay.

If you do decide to do crosslinking, i think your doing it at one of two places where they have the most experiance, the other being Dortmond. Overseas visters are welcome in both places.

All the best to you

Thanks QuintriX!

I'll write a small article and publish all my results if I decide to do crosslinking.

I am particularly interested in the long term stability of eyes after mini ARK. Here I am referring to 5 plus years after mini ARK. I will sincerely appreciate it if you could share your long term experiences regarding stability.

Any data will be appreciated. Whether it be testimonials, maps, photos and/or eye test results before and after ARK or mini ARK operation.
